Purple Sky Cocktail, the genuine and fruity combination. The Purple Sky was born at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris at the hands of Harry MacElhone, a well-known bartender who had already delighted the palates of hundreds of New Yorkers with his cocktails from the Plaza Hotel bar. This place opened its doors in 1911 and saw the birth of many emblematic cocktails. In 1958, when Harry died, his son Andy took over the reins and wanted to give the business a new twist and expand the menu by introducing cocktails with newer and more surprising flavors. This is how the Purple Sky was born, seducing the general public with its peculiar color and its fruity flavors.

How to make the Purple Sky
We put the white rum in the shaker; This cocktail is quite simple although it depends a lot on the quality of the ingredients. We will use a Highball type glass to do it, it is a type of glass widely used in restaurants and cocktails to serve cocktails and other drinks that are long drinks, that is, they are going to be drunk slowly.
Next, we add the white ton and the coconut rum or some flavored coconut liquor.
Alberto MartinWe add the blue curaçao, which gives it the most characteristic and showy color. This is a vibrant blue sweet and slightly bitter liqueur that was originally created from the dehydrated peel of orange on the island of Curaçao in the Caribbean. It is frequently used to give the blue hue of tropical skies to different types of cocktails.
A touch of grenadine to get our purple color, it is a drink that is made with sugar and pomegranates that does not contain alcohol.
Alberto MartinFinally we added the orange and pineapple juices respectively.
Alberto MartinShake the shaker until the ingredients are well mixed and serve in the glass with ice.
Alberto MartinFinally we will decorate with a piece of pineapple or orange. You can also add dehydrated fruits… et voilà!
