How to prepare a Moscow Mule, a refreshing cocktail

How to prepare a Moscow Mule, a refreshing cocktail. The birthplace of this cocktail was the Chatham Hotel in New York. There they met three friends named Martin, Kunett and Morgan who were, respectively, the owner of a bar in Los Angeles, a producer of ginger beer and a distributor of distillates. They were gathered in the bar talking about their ideas:

The three of us were having a drink, having a snack and pushing ourselves towards an inventive genius. Martin and Kunett thought about their vodka and wondered what would happen if they poured the two ounces into Morgan’s ginger beer with a squeeze of lemon. We asked for ice, bought lemons, found cups, and made the concoction.

This mixture was called “Moscow Mule”, a word of obvious Russian origin. Its more literal translation (as a possible mule kick) has its credit in a special characteristic of strength that is perceived at the first drink.

It became very popular among the Hollywood elite, helping America become better acquainted with vodka. Together with ginger beer (ginger beer) and the attractive copper mug that maintained its refreshing taste, it became one of the most famous drinks of the 1950s.
