How to make homemade hamburger bun step by step

We weigh and measure all the ingredients of the recipe and dissolve the 15 g of fresh yeast in the 125 g of water. Next, we put the 500 g of bread flour in a bowl and add the 75 g of butter, the egg, the 25 g of sugar, the 125 g of milk and the yeast dissolved in the water.

Mix and let the dough rest for ten minutes. Next, add the 10 g of salt and continue kneading and folding the dough until the gluten develops and it is smooth and elastic.

How to preserve hamburger bun

As with any bread, these hamburger buns keep wonderfully frozen. Once cold, we store them in airtight bags and put them in the freezer, where they can be kept for up to three months in perfect condition. Unless we have a party, from this batch of 12 loaves, we save the ones that we are not going to use this time and we will have hamburger buns for a couple more dinners.

When we want to use them, we only need to take them out of the freezer a couple of hours in advance so that they thaw at room temperature. We give it a heater or toast it on the griddle when making the hamburgers in the usual way and they will be perfect.
