Of course, since we are going to use the melted butter, it is important to follow an order when putting the ingredients, because we do not want the chocolate chips to melt in the preparation.
The classic homemade cookies are made with wheat flour, butter and chocolate chips as main ingredients. From this basic recipe, we can customize cookies to our liking. For example, we can vary the type of flour, include white chocolate chips or even delete the chocolate and use nuts, totally or partially, instead. If you want the cookies to have a softer and somewhat chewy texture, you can add half a teaspoon of baking soda to the recipe, we have not added it so that the cookies are crunchy, which is how we like them the most.

How to make homemade chocolate chip cookies
First of all, we preheat the oven to 180 ºC with heat above and below, or to 160 ºC with the fan function. We are going to use a single bowl and in it we will start by putting the dry ingredients: 275 g of wheat flour, 100 g of sugar and 1 pinch of salt flakes.

Next, we add part of the liquid ingredients: 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.

Melt 125 g of butter in the microwave or in a saucepan. If we use the microwave, 1 minute will be enough. If using a saucepan, heat it over medium-low heat until the butter turns from solid to liquid. If for whatever reason we went too far over time and the butter became toasted, it would not matter, on the contrary, this would give a nutty flavor to the cookies.

Mix the dough very well with all the ingredients. We should be able to form a ball. The walls must be clean and the mass must be manageable. Now that the dough is already formed, we add 75 g of chocolate chips. We can reserve a few chocolate chips to add them to the surface of the cookies so that they stand out, once the cookies are formed and before baking them. This will bring a more traditional and showy look to the cookies.

We mix the dough again now with the chocolate chips and, with the help of a spoon to make ice cream balls or with our hands if we don’t have one, we form 12 portions that we will deposit on a tray lined with baking paper.

We use the other side of the spoon to slightly crush the cookies. At this point, we can add more chocolate chips to make the cookies look more appealing.

We take the tray to the oven and bake the cookies for 15 minutes.

Once out of the oven, we take the cookies to a wire rack so that they cool down and are not soft on the bottom. Cooling on a rack will help air circulate throughout and the cookies stay crisp.

Once the cookies are cold, they will be ready to enjoy. If there are any leftovers, we can store them in a tin box, they will last perfectly for a week in the fridge.
