Puff pastry braid, an easy and delicious recipe with few ingredients

To get the best result in this braid, we will use the best quality puff pastry and better if it is with butter. Of course, if we have time and desire, we can also make homemade puff pastry following our recipe.

It is also important to get good nutswhich we can customize to our liking by choosing the ones we like the most, as long as we do not exceed the amount indicated in the recipe since in that case, when forming the braid it would be uncomfortable to work with.

This is not an overly sweet dessert so it is almost obligatory to put the glaze on it. We could also customize the frosting adding a touch of cinnamon or orange zest, which goes perfectly with this combination of puff pastry and nuts.

We pour the chopped nuts and spread them over the entire surface of the puff pastry sheet, leaving a couple of centimeters at the ends.

We cover the sheet of puff pastry with nuts with the other sheet of puff pastry and lightly seal the ends.

We roll the two filled sheets together on baking paper to facilitate their transfer to the baking tray.

We put the open dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper and braid it, rolling one side over the other. Preheat the oven to 180ºC with heat up and down. We brush the braid with beaten egg and bake it for 30-40 minutes with heat up and down or until golden to our liking.

We remove from the oven and let it cool on the tray.

We prepare the glaze by mixing 80 grams of icing sugar and 2 tablespoons of water.
