How to make homemade milk liqueur

We begin by preparing the ingredients and utensils that we will use to make the liquor. We will need a glass jar, preferably with a wide mouth, which we will wash and dry well. Separately, cut 4 thick slices of 1 lemon and reserve it

We put the lemon slices in the container where we will make the liquor, we open 2 vanilla pods in half, scrape out the seeds with a knife and add them to the lemon. We will also add the shell of the vanillas.

Next, we put 250 g of white sugar in the pot and mix it all so that it is impregnated with the flavours.

Finally, we add the liquids: 250 ml of food ethyl alcohol or, failing that, 250 ml of vodka, which is much easier to find and, although its flavor is not as neutral as that of alcohol, it is true that it hardly adds flavor. Finally, we add 500 ml of whole milk to the mixture.

We remove everything well so that the sugar dissolves using a stick or wooden spoon.

Once we have everything mixed and the sugar has dissolved, we cover it with a sterile gauze, which we will fix with a rubber band and let it macerate between 20 and 30 days, in a dark and cool place.

We have to stir it once every day, always using a wooden utensil. We will see how it evolves, how the flavors macerate and give off a sweet and pleasant aroma, and how it becomes increasingly viscous. I advise you to keep it in an area near the kitchen, so that you are not too lazy to stir it every day

After the maceration time has elapsed, we taste it and if it is at the optimum point of flavor, we strain it, with a fine mesh strainer or with a cloth.

Finally, and with the help of a funnel, we transfer it to a bottle and we have it ready to serve.

We keep it in a bottle in the fridge to consume it very cold.
